RainFurrest 2014 Charity:

Last year RainFurrest raised $6,500 dollars for Cougar Mountain Zoo thanks to everyone who donated and participated in our charity events!

Cougar Mountain Zoo

Established in 1972 the primary focus of the Cougar Mountain Zoo is on endangered species and education with a focus on increasing the understanding and appreciation of the earth's wildlife and the role of humanity in nature through education, research, captive breeding, conservation, exhibition and recreation. Many of our residents have been born or raised at the Zoo and have developed a self assured attitude toward humans, enabling visitors to take a deep glimpse into the beauty and mysteries of other life forms.

We consider our visitors as the guardians of our planet and put forth an unprecedented effort to give each visitor the utmost in personal attention and hospitality. So, let us extend a warm welcome from the Cougar Mountain Zoo, a wild and exciting place located in the friendly and historic city of Issaquah, nestled on the north facing slope of Cougar Mountain with a breathtaking view of the Cascade Mountain range and Lake Sammamish.

We are dedicated to promoting the cause of the Earth's vanishing wildlife through the universal power of education, as well as to:

- To serve as a rallying point and a common denominator where people with differing environmental views can find a common cause and neutral ground.

- To serve the surrounding schools and communities as a Living Classroom through a broad array of specialized educational programs.

- To give every Zoo visitor individual attention and a special experience.

- To be an important recreational asset for all ages and socio-economic levels.

- To represent a greenbelt in the sea of development for the Puget Sound Region.

- To serve as a rallying point and a common denominator where people with differing environmental views can find a common cause and neutral ground.
